Mechanised compacting instrument for hot filling, used inside the root canal after preparation, cleaning and disinfection.
The gutta-percha condenser pushes the gutta-percha, its rotation plasticizes it with the heat of friction, fluidizes it and condenses it.
Advantages
- More uniform obturation than with cold techniques, as the gutta-percha fills in the irregular areas of the canal.
- Faster and more controlled treatment than some manual methods.
- Graduations facilitate control of the depth of penetration to limit the risk of extrusion.
